Tulsa Oilers Foundation Is Rewarding School Attendance With Hockey Tickets
Forty students were recognized at an October 6 kickoff at Dolores Huerta Elementary for a program that can turn strong attendance into a night at the rink.

Forty students at Dolores Huerta Elementary received certificates October 6 as the Tulsa Oilers Foundation introduced an attendance-reward program at the school.

Sledge, the Oilers mascot, was there for the kickoff.

The foundation calls the program Attend 2 Win. Students at participating schools who reach 90%–100% attendance can receive two Tulsa Oilers tickets—one for the student and one for a parent or guardian.

That gives the recognition somewhere to go after the certificate comes home: a hockey game they can attend together.

The foundation’s general program description does not specify the attendance period or ticket-redemption process for individual schools, so those details come through participating schools.
