More than 200 volunteers showed up at Wilshire Trails in North Tulsa on September 26 with an ambitious assignment: raise the walls for 10 homes in one day.

Among them were employees from Tulsa-based T.D. Williamson.

The company says it contributed $50,000 to Green Country Habitat for Humanity’s 16th annual Clark Howard Blitz Build and sent volunteers to work alongside the larger crew.

KRMG reported that walls for all 10 homes went up during the build day, a record for the Tulsa event. The houses still have construction ahead before they are finished.

The 10 homes are the first planned for Wilshire Trails, a 31-home development just off East 33rd Street North and Peoria. The site sits across from Hawthorne Elementary and Hawthorne Park.

T.D. Williamson’s contribution put company money and employees into the same project. Its volunteers joined the larger group working on the homes that morning.
